Daan Utsab 2nd October 2024

Daan Utsav, often referred to as the Festival of Giving, is a nationwide initiative in India aimed at encouraging acts of generosity and social good. Celebrated annually during the first week of October (October 2-8), it coincides with Gandhi Jayanti, emphasizing the values of compassion and community service.

At Grassroot Literacy Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of giving. This Daan Utsav, our dedicated team brought smiles and hope to the lives of underprivileged children by distributing new clothes in a remote village of West Bengal.

Daan Utsav, India’s Festival of Giving, is a time to unite as a community and spread joy to those who need it the most. Aligned with our mission to uplift and empower underprivileged children, we marked this occasion with an act of generosity and love.
Our initiative : New Cloths, New Hope

In the week of Daan Utsav, our team visited a remote village in West Bengal, identified for its lack of basic resources and amenities.

We distributed new clothes to over 73 children, ensuring they experienced the joy and dignity of receiving something special. The children’s laughter and excitement reflected the success of this initiative, reaffirming our commitment to creating a positive impact.
